Courses designed to prepare you for any wing incidents that may occur in the wild. Or maybe you're looking to kick your acro up a notch? Either way...
Let's make your wing your new best friend.

Why do a SIV?
Be ready for any situation.
Know the Unknown
Collapses, cravats, broken lines... they happen. Simulating these incidents allows you to understand how to calmly handle any situation that might come up in the wild, instead of having a first encounter with no idea what to do.
New Wing, New Behaviors
Wing technology changes with every company, every year, and every wing. Just because you knew the limits of your last glider, doesn't mean your new one will react the same way. Build that bond with every wing you fly.
Build Confidence
Gain the confidence to know that every time you launch, you're going to be ready for any incident that may happen in the air. Understand the feedback the wing gives you and take your flying to the next level. Smile knowing that you're prepared to be the best pilot you can be.
Talking With Your Wing
Everything you feel while you're flying is a communication with your glider. Learn to understand what feedback it's giving you and how to answer it in that conversation. Feel bumps as new information, instead of something to fear.
Who is an SIV for?
Just Started Flying
Post qualification is the perfect time to undertake your first SIV. It will fast track your understanding of your wing capabilities and consolidate your newly acquired skills. As long as you can confidently take off and land, we can work with you to significantly improve your confidence and skill level. There is no better way to transition from training to the club environment.
Working on XC Skills
Struggling to get those XC distances or regularly find yourself at the bottom of the stack? We can teach you the limits of your paraglider and how to develop smooth, efficient turning. One of the biggest factors in XC is confidence, after an SIV course with us you'll understand your skills and how safe your glider really is.
Getting the Hang of It
Passed your training a little while back and feel like you're getting the hang of it? Well there's still a lot more to learn! This is the perfect time to join an SIV and develop your confidence under the wing. With experienced tuition you will learn the limits of your wing.
Progressing into Acro
To progress into acro you need to have a baseline experience level. This starts with an SIV and progresses onto acro courses. During our tailored SIV courses we can focus on recovery techniques or work towards basic acro manouevres, getting you ready for the next steps in glider precision.
Next level: Acro
Acrobatic flying is pushing the limits of what pilots and gliders can achieve. It is a discipline of our sport that can be extremely frustrating and at the same time hugely rewarding. At Free Flight Academy we take acro training and progression very seriously and have spent many years refining and perfecting a way for pilots to progress quickly but most importantly safely.
If you've already completed your first SIV and want to progress into acro training then we can create a program to suit your level and progression, simply let us know when booking your course.
